It looks like Roman Polanski is staying put for awhile.
Neither his own legal team nor some A-list Hollywood types could convince the Swiss Justice Ministry to release the Oscar-winning filmmaker from a Zurich jail.
E! News reports: Officials declined to free Polanski in a ruling today, one week after he was apprehended on an international warrant stemming from a 31-year-old statutory rape conviction.
Now maybe Polanski can take advantage of his time behind bars and think of what he has done while his legal team battles in a separate court to prevent his extradition back to California. No word yet when that hearing will happen, but it’s expected by the end of the month.
The decision not to let him out on bail or house arrest was made after the government deemed the Polish-born Polanski to be a high flight risk.
This is great news!

This is probably the meanest thing I’ve said in my life but here goes, whether it’s after being convicted here, in the USA, or awaiting some appeal there, in a Swiss jail, I hope you rot in jail old man! Rot!!!

It’s interesting that this man has been involved in such controversy, yet was able to produce a masterpiece like “The Pianist”. If you watch the director’s cut, he talks about his life in the concentration camps. I wonder why, then, the “international warrant” was not carried out when he was making this film??? Or was it hands-off in Poland? If anyone knows, please e-mail me at georgiesmom@live.com

the reason hollywood doesn’t see him a as a scumbag is becuase they are all scumbags….protecting their own…… wanton sex with either sex, orgies, under age sex (hello disney studios) drugs, underage drinking. is the norm in hollywood…..so it’ doesn’t seem punishable to the average hollywood player….it’s their priviledge since they sacrifice so much to entertain us……… Read the smoking gun…….it says he gave up the all his rights and the judge had the right to change his mind. polanski argreed to all of it and PLEAD GUILTY…… he only HEARD the judge was going to change his mind………didn’t hear the the judge HAD changed his mind…… at worse case scenario the guy should be locked in a mental institution…..so he can get over his past issues from his poland days……..what a ******* excuse to be a child rapist……’oh I was a jew in a concetration camp……..guess what his doctor was in the evaluation…………good guess * A JEW
