Here we go…another heated debate in Hollywood. This time it’s Spike Lee who is attacking Tyler Perry’s TBS sitcoms “Meet the Browns” and “House of Payne” as coonery and buffoonery. (Amos and Andy type stuff).
Tyler Perry responded to Spike’s comments in his interview on 60 Minutes which airs tonight at 7pm.
You can catch a bit of it here and it looks like Tyler Perry is not too happy with Spike Lee’s point of view.
We have to side with Tyler on this one…only because we have about 5 “Madeas” just in our family alone!
Catch it tonight on 60 Minutes if you can!

I think that Spike Lee is so dissrespectfull,Tyler Perry is just being real. There is not one movie that he has made that you or someone you know hasn’t been through. I love how on all his movies he puts god in it or showing how when things go bad we all tend to look for god. He is truly amazing and I love him for that.

I think there is a little jealousy going on here. Tyler Perry is a wonderful person that is bringing good clean entertainment to all races. Spike Lee had is time back in the day and now he is not the one everyone is talking about. Instead of hating on Tyler why can’t he join the man and grow the industry?

Mr Spike Lee you’re a very good Director when it comes too “political Films” And you make very good points. Tyler is has a different vision when it comes to reaching the people2000s, you did in the 80s and still do now. Black directors of the late 60s early 70s Melvin van Pebbles, D’Urville Martin, Ivan Dixon, etc…. acted on the vision of the time, the mode of the people that were set during that time. Everybody has little ofthat we see in films. In the 80s myself and my friends, saw ourselves in your movies Spike. Now twenty years later we our children ,aunts fathers, mothers in Tyler’s films Pease work with him please
