Nicole Kidman will make the transformation from a man, Einer Wegener, into a woman, Lili Elbe, in the film “The Danish Girl.” Set to play Einer’s wife, Gerda, is Gwyneth Paltrow.
The film is based on the true story of the first trans-sexual man, who underwent several experimental surgeries in the 1930’s. After Einer’s wife, an artist, asks him to pose in a stockings and heels, it sets into motion Einer’s desire to become a woman. He finally dies from complications from his fifth surgery (a uterus transplant so that he could bear children.)
The movie is scheduled to be out sometime next year.
