Run- DMC
New York City plans to honor hip-hop pioneers Run-DMC by renaming a street corner in Queens after them. They will rename 205th Street and Hollis Avenue “Run-DMC JMJ Way.” The corner is also the site of a proposed Hip-Hop Museum which DMC plans to open.
Run-DMC called it quits after the fatal shooting of Jam Master Jay in October of 2002, but their legend lives. So appreciated for their innovation, they were even inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
