A Very Happy Birthday To Bill And Tom Kaulitz!

Time to toast Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz, and his brother Tom who both  turned 21 years old today. The German singer Bill who is also a fashion icon is already something of an industry veteran, performing with his twin brother Tom since he was 10 years old.

The young band continued to play shows and attempt to get discovered until Bill performed on the German version of “Star Search” in 2003. He didn’t win (he was eliminated in the quarter-finals), but his one-of-a-kind voice and unique sense of style scored his band a recording contract. They changed their name (again) to Tokio Hotel, and the rest is history.

Happy Birthday beautiful ones!

A Humble George Clooney Accepts His Humanitarian Award

The wonderful George Clooney received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at Sunday’s Emmy Awards, the actor was recognized for his helping hand in charitable causes ranging from Hurricane Katrina to the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

When George accepted his award he stated the following:

“Its important to remember how much good can get done because we live in such strange times where bad behavior sucks up all of the attention and the press,” Clooney told the audience. “And the people who really need the spotlight: the Haitians, the Sudanese, people in the Gulf Coast, Pakistan — they can’t get any.”

“If you have a tremendous amount of heat from the spotlight, then you’re able to shine a light in a different direction, and it’s just deflecting,” he continued. “My dad calls it a celebrity credit card that you try to cash in other places.”

The charitable actor, who has served as one of the United Nations Messengers of Peace since 2008, said he hopes “that some very bright person right here in the room or at home watching can help find a way to keep the spotlight burning on these heartbreaking situations that continue to be heartbreaking long after the cameras go away.

“That would be an impressive accomplishment,” he said.

Beautifully put. The world needs more people like George :)
