Monday Morning Hottie: Idan Raichel

Idan Raichel is this Monday Morning Hottie, an Israeli singer-songwriter and a musician, widely acclaimed for his Idan Raichel Project (Hebrew: הפרוייקט של עידן רייכל), distinctive for its fusion of electronics, traditional Hebrew texts, Middle Eastern and Ethiopian music. Ladies, we are in love with this one!

Starting his career off in the Israeli military Idan then went on to be a counselor at a boarding school for troubled youth. From there he travelled with Save a Child’s Heart to Rwanda and Ethiopia. During this time he would listen to Ethiopian cassettes and began to frequent Ethiopian bars and clubs for the music.

At the same time, Raichel had become a successful backup musician and recording session player for some of Israel’s most popular singers. After a few years of this he decided it was time to pursue a project that reflected his musical ideals, and began working on a demo. Thank goodness for that!

Most of the Israeli labels considered his work too “ethnic” and too outside of the norms of the formulaic Israeli pop scene to have any hope of success but one A&R man, Gadi Gidor at Helicon Records, recognized the potential of Idan’s work and signed him up for an album that became an immediate hit and the rest is history.

Raichel’s latest album named “Ben Kirot Beyti” was released on November 20, 2008. The album is a collaboration with many world musicians, and has so far been certified platinum, with over 4,000,000 copies sold.

Idan-the creator, the composer, the poet. We hope you enjoy his work as much as we do.

Monday Morning Hottie ‘David Garrett’

Our newest Monday Morning Hottie is not only gorgeous but a musical genius as well.

David Garrett was born in Aachen on 4th september 1980 of American mother and German father. His father, large amateur of violin and string instruments antique dealer, often received at home experienced violinists. When David was four, his father brought back a violin to his older brother. The little David, already an hot-headed temper, wanted to do the same and he insisted very much to playing too. His ability and his interest to play caused the admiration of all his entourage.

At the age of 19, he played with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchster under the direction of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos in Berlin and was unanimously celebrated by the critics. Then, David was invited to perform at the Expo 2000 in Hannover.

After a bad experience at the Royal College of Music in London, he realized that his childhood had been quite odd. He was his violin’s slave, and at the time it was his only friend. He then started to discover the real life and wanted to catch up lost time, by enjoying life.

At the age of 21, he was invited to perform at the “Night of the Proms ”. It was very exciting to play as a “PopStar” in front of 600 000 people in just two months. He met a lot of young people, “wonderful people” he said. He never will forget that. As he was charismatic and sociable, his success skyrocketed and he had a big success with the women.

He moved to New York and entered at the Juilliard School as one of the first students to study with Itzhak Perlman. In the same time, he will supplement his income by working as a model.

Garrett’s most recent album, ‘Rock Symphonies’, was released on July 20, 2010

Check out the video below. We think you’ll agree playing the violin never looked so good! :)

Joe has been working most of his life as an actor but his career is now about to explode.

He loves his craft and shared the following: I’m lucky enough, I made money on television when I was young, so I don’t have to do parts to support myself. I just do stuff because it’ll be fun and challenge me.

“My favorite kinds of actors are the chameleons, like Daniel Day-Lewis or Peter Sellers, people like that. To me, the highest compliment you can pay to an actor is, “Man, I didn’t recognize you”. So yeah, “Hesher” is really different from “Tom” in (500) Days of Summer (2009)” and you know, that’s what keeps it spicy for me.”

“I just love to act. It’s my favorite thing to do in the world, and what keeps it interesting to me is the creative challenge. So different kinds of characters, that’s what I just love to do.”

“Acting’s really difficult to talk about. If you could talk about it so easily then you wouldn’t have to act.”

In his free time  Joe also enjoys playing guitar. As far as a current girlfriend we still have no clue. But true to Pynk fashion as soon as we find out we’ll let you know. :)

Monday Morning Hottie “Hugh Dancy”

It was love at first sight for us when we first were introduced to Hugh Dancy as “Luke Brandon” in the film “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”
Hugh began his career at a very young age acted in the Winchester College Players production of Twelfth Night which was performed in both Winchester and at the Minack Theatre in Cornwall. Dancy has recently appeared in an English film “Here to Help”. With reports of it being “just another chick flick,” its numbers started out low, but turned out to be an overnight success. Dancy plays the uptight, arrogant, and successful business man who moves into the little village of Turton-on-Trent near Bristol. He and his fiancee spot a beautiful cottage that time had forgotten in the corner of the beautiful village and will stop at no means to get it. The film was directed by Alice Lewis and stars Anne Hathaway, Trent Brenavich, and Samual Fender.
n 2007, Dancy had a starring role on Broadway as Captain Dennis Stanhope in Journey’s End (Belasco Theatre). He also played Aiden in the 2007 film Blood and Chocolate. He portrayed the character of Adam in the 2009 independent film Adam, a man with Asperger syndrome.[2] Dancy also appeared in the film adaptation of the novel Savage Grace by Natalie Robins and Steven M. L. Aronson. Hugh Dancy is currently appearing in MCC Theater’s The Pride, written by Alexi Kaye Campbell, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York City. This off-Broadway production is directed by Joe Mantello and co-stars Ben Whishaw and Andrea Riseborough.
Hugh just had that old fashioned charm matched with his dashing looks it makes him easy to watch. As far as his personal life he is married to actress Claire Danes. The couple got married in September 2009 in France.
We don’t know of any current projects in the works so let’s push to get this guy on the big screen more often! :)

Monday Morning Hottie “Joshua Jackson”

Joshua Jackson has been in show business most of his life but his latest role in “Fringe” has taken the actor to the next level. Which is why he is our Monday Morning Hottie. Not to mention he is drop-dead gorgeous!
Joshua, 31, has appeared in primetime television and in over 32 film roles. He is best known for playing Charlie Conway in The Mighty Ducks film series, Pacey Witter in the television series Dawson’s Creek and now Peter Bishop in the television series Fringe.
Originally from British Columbia Jackson had the acting bug in his blood. His mom Fiona Jackson was a casting director and Joshua caught on pretty early.
Via Wiki; Soon after he took up acting, Jackson landed the role of Charlie in the The Mighty Ducks series, a part for which Jake Gyllenhaal was also considered(years later both would also be amongst a small group of actors considered for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins, which eventually went to Christian Bale). Jackson went on to appear as Pacey Witter on Dawson’s Creek, which ran on the WB network from 1998–2003, and also starred James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes. While the show was on hiatus, he appeared in several movies including The Skulls, The Safety of Objects, The Laramie Project and a short cameo in the remake of Ocean’s Eleven where he appears as himself in a poker scene with Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Holly Marie Combs, among others. In 2000, he also guest-starred in Season 12 of The Simpsons, voicing the character of Jesse Grass, a “hunky environmentalist” and love interest for Lisa Simpson in the episode “Lisa the Tree Hugger”.
Shortly after Dawson’s Creek ended in 2003, Jackson played the lead role in films alongside Dennis Hopper (Americano), Harvey Keitel (Shadows in the Sun), and Donald Sutherland (Aurora Borealis). In 2005, Jackson moved to the UK and made his stage debut on the London West End with Patrick Stewart in David Mamet’s two-man play, A Life in the Theatre. The play was a critical and popular success, and ran from February to April of that year. Jackson has said in recent interviews that he would consider returning to the stage, this time trying his hand on Broadway. His next film role was in the all-star ensemble drama Bobby, directed by Emilio Estevez, Jackson’s co-star from The Mighty Ducks. He played a lead role in a US remake of the Asian horror film Shutter. He has recently starred and acted as executive producer in the Canadian independent film One Week, which opened on March 6, 2009.
Jackson currently plays Peter Bishop in J.J. Abrams’ science-fiction series Fringe. Created by JJ Abrams, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The series appears on the Fox TV network and is the second-highest rated new show of the 2008-09 season after CBS’ The Mentalist.
Not bad for 31. We have high hopes of seeing Joshua Jackson much more in the future. And FYI ladies…as far as we know he is still single! :)
