Kris Allen Hands On In Haiti

American Idol Kris Allen got hands-on in Haiti.  He helped haul away rubble, and even sang “Amazing Grace” to a group of Haitian children.
Kris said, “We saw a lot of heartbreak but we also saw a lot of hope … The biggest shock for me was when we went by the palace in Haiti. It’s a national icon and it was completely in devastation. This huge beautiful place had been completely demolished … It was definitely the worst devastation that I’ve seen. When I went to South Africa that was really rough, but this was on a totally different scale.”
Footage of Kris’ efforts in Haiti will be shown on tonight’s “Idol” show dedicated to Haiti.  It’s a results show, but will also raise money to help in the earthquake recovery efforts in Haiti with funds going to the U.N. Foundation for Haiti.

More American Idol Drama

Word on the street is things are really heating up on the set of “American Idol”. Ellen DeGeneres is having a hard time accepting Simon Cowell’s prima-donna ways!

DeGeneres was none too pleased when Cowell showed up an hour and a half late on “American Idol’s” first day in Hollywood, according to Nikki Finke and Mike Fleming at Deadline.com.
She had moved up the taping of her own show so she could make it to the “Idol” set on time.
“Here it was the first day of taping of the Hollywood shows, and Ellen was there waiting for Simon to show up,” an insider told Deadline.com.
“Ellen’s new to the gig and she’s very organized and she made a commitment to take this on, and now she’s asking herself, ‘What did I get myself into?’ She called Simon Cowell a prima donna. So right from the start, the chemistry isn’t great,” the source continued.

American Idol Needs Paula Abdul

300.american.idol.judges.020409So tonight was the kick-off of one of our favorite shows “American Idol” but we have to admit we were kinda disappointed. The season nine auditions were held in Boston with only a few good ones out of the bunch but what was really disappointing was the absence of Paula Abdul.
The thought of watching Kara Dio Guardi for another full season is just nauseating. If you don’t believe us, watch the clip below and share your thoughts.

Simon Cowell Is Done With American Idol… Almost

Simon Cowell has decided to exit American Idol after the 2010 season.  His brother Tony announced Simon was out the door.  Tony said, “A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected: Simon will leave ‘idol’ at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of ‘X Factor’ to U.S. TV in 2011.”
We can’t imagine American Idol will go on without Simon, but the opportunity for unknown singers will still exist with X-Factor U.S.A.   It’s almost like Simon is just changing the title of the show.

Adam Lambert Snaps Back At Gene Simmons

Just because Adam Lambert is new on the scene don’t think he won’t bite back.

Adam opens up to the new issue of Rolling stone magazine and responds to Gene Simmon’s snide remarks about Adam’s sexuality:

“Gene Simmons spouted something, that he thought I’d ruined my career by coming out. He’s obnoxious, and what a hypocrite – all he talks about is his sex life. He was being a dick – and he’s not the greatest singer. I guess he’s a good businessman. I’ll give him that.”

We have to side with Adam on this one.  Gene has zero room to talk and even less talent!

Carrie Underwood’s Man Speaks!

carrie-underwood-and-mike-fisherWe’ve known about Carrie Underwood’s relationship with hockey pro Mike Fisher since the game last February when Carrie ducked from being shown on the Jumbotron in her SkyBox… but finally one of them has spoken about the romance!

On the broadcast network for Mike’s team, the Ottawa Senators, Mike said, “It’s been good.  Tough with our schedules to see each other.  Obviously, in the summer I had a bit more time off to see her a little bit more.  She’s so busy [but] we always find a way to make it work..”

Dating a hockey player would be tough for a woman with NO career, given their game rosters, we’re amazed they see each other at all.  But Mike keeps up on Carrie’s career even saying his favorite song from her new album is “Temporary Home”.  He even managed to sneak a plug in for Carrie’s album saying that “Play On” drops November 3rd.

Interesting titles… !  What a cute couple XOXO
