Word on the street is Christina Aguilera will be performing a new song from her 4th album (not yet released) tonight on the telethon for Haiti. We haven’t been able to confirm if this is true or not but let’s hope it is!!

Kristen Bell will be joining the cast of “Burlesque” as Christina Aguilera’s rival. The musical film also stars Cher, who plays a burlesque club owner.
Christina plays the part of a small-town girl who transforms herself at the club. Kristen will play the part of Nikki, a lead-dancer “loose-cannon” who must take a back seat to Christina’s character as she becomes the center of attention.
The film begins shooting in November!

Christina Aguilera made a trip to Guatemala recently to raise awareness. Guatemala has the highest child malnutrition rates in Central America.
Christina explains: “I wanted to see with my own eyes what hunger means. As a mom my heart just breaks when I see how young mothers like Concepción struggle to feed their children. I don’t think I can ever forget these images.”
Adds Chrsitina, “The people of WFP do such a great job helping hungry children and mothers. I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful project and incredible team. WFP urgently needs donations to keep feeding some 150,000 women and undernourished children – I want to raise awareness and open people’s eyes so they can get the funds they need to keep on working.”

The very 1st Annual Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon, will be held on Sept. 24 at the Beverly Wilshire Four Season’s hotel with the help of emcee Jane Lynch and in conjunction with Variety’s Women’s Impact Report, and in partnership with Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network.
They will be celebrating and honoring Hollywood’s most philanthropic women. Some of the honorees are: Christina Applegate, Anne Hathaway, January Jones, Christina Aguilera, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, Laura Ziskin and Sherry Lansing.
“We are thrilled to announce the inaugural Variety’s Power of Women event, honoring an incredible group of women who are dedicated to utilizing their positions in the entertainment industry to further awareness and affect change for various causes,” said Michelle Sobrino, Associate Publisher, Variety in a press release. “We are proud to partner with Andrea Wong and Lifetime, as they represent one of the most powerful and innovative women’s media brands.”

The nominees for the 2009 ALMA awards has been announced:
From the amazing Christina Aguilera to the gorgeous Eva Longoria Parker, ET has the nominees for the 2009 ALMA Awards (American Latino Media Arts), which will be hosted by Eva Longoria Parker and George Lopez.
“I am proud that we will be able to pay tribute to a record number of Latino performers and just thrilled to have one of the funniest men on the planet, George Lopez, as my co-host this year. If you know me and you know George, anything can happen so tune in!” says Longoria Parker.
The nominees were announced this morning at Beso, Longoria Parker’s Latin-themed restaurant in Hollywood.

Christina has announced she is teaming up with M.I.A. for her new album which is a HUGE deal!
M.I.A. has only done one other collaboration and that was with Timbaland on his “shock Value” album.
