Drake Doesn’t Like The Negativity In Blogs

Very interesting observation by Drake in his new Paper magazine interview when asked about negative comments on blogs here’s what he said:
“I definitely haven’t said this before, but I stopped going on a computer. I have a problem where if I go read a hundred positive things about me and there’s one guy in there who says ‘I hate Drake’ that’s the one I pay attention to. I think that’s a common problem. Negativity hurts us more than positivity helps us. I asked about 10 or 20 people around me, ‘When’s the last time you went on a website and commented on something, like a song dropped and you went on and said, ‘That song is hot’ or ‘That song is terrible?’ And everyone I asked around me, whose opinions I respect, the people I love, were like, ‘I’ve never done that before.’ And these are all level-headed, intelligent people whose opinion I respect, so I just started saying to myself, ‘It takes a certain type of individual to really participate in a group discussion about someone else, especially if they’re going super hard with consistent hate.”
The reason we find this so interesting is we normally do not receive alot of comments on our blogs. We think it’s because our readers are positive like us and don’t want to spread the negative.
Hopefully this concept catches on elsewhere. :)

Drake Will Feature Alicia Keys On His Debut Album

Drake has revealed more news about his upcoming debut album, “Thank Me Later”.  In Los Angeles last Thursday, he announced that Alicia Keys will be featured on his record.  During a performance he said, “This right here is the first song that you will hear when you put that disk in.  It’s a song with myself and Miss Alicia Keys.”
The track is called “Fireworks” which he debuted during the start of his tour.  He also discussed the single last month with MTV saying, quote, “It’s really where I am in my life right now.  I know they’re looking forward to the album, so I want them to get a feel of how the story starts off.”
Drake’s “Thank Me Later” will also include the singles “Over” and “Find Your Love.”  The highly anticipated album drops June 15th.
Considering these two were once romantically linked, the title “Fireworks” seems appropriate!

Drake Really Wants To Work With Sade

Drake says that he hasn’t given up all hope of collaborating with Sade, even though the U.K. singer turned down the opportunity to work with the Canadian rapper.
Speaking with MTV, Drake said he understood Sade’s decision.
“Other people’s visuals, other people’s songs, stepping outside your zone can jeopardize your brand,” Drake explained. “It can bring you down as opposed to bring you up.”
While Drake claims he understands, he is still disappointed. “I personally feel we could have done something amazing . . . but I don’t think she really knows who I am, really, my genre of music. I put it out there. It was more of a hopeful thing.”
Although we can understand Drake wanting to work with Sade ( who wouldn’t) we don’t see this one happening. Sorry, Drake.

Word Is: New DRAKE Is Amazing

Drake’s new songs are getting some serious praise.  The rapper’s debut album “Thank Me Later” comes out later this year, but the hip-hop community is already responding to the first single, “Over.”  DJ Statik Selektah said, “He could have chose to run with a soft, candy-coated record, but he didn’t.  The beat is crazy.  I’m looking forward to this album!”
DJ Khaled proclaimed, “It’s amazing!  It’s special!  Drake did it again!  It’s a hit!”  Host of MTV2′s “Sucker Free,” DJ Envy, said the material exceeds the sky-high expectations from the hip-hop fans, “I know he had a lot of pressure and the world staring at him, but I think he delivered.  He did it his way… outside the box.”
“Thank Me Later” is the official full-length DEBUT album to follow up Drake’s highly successful EP “So Far Gone.”
This is the year for Drake!  He needs to make sure his leg is fully healed before taking on the world though. XO
